Take an hour to relax and share with others who understand.

SUPPORT GROUPS

for spouses, adult children, and other relatives
or friends caring for an elderly person

Taking care of another person may be the most important thing you do, but it can also be the hardest. Park Slope Geriatric Day Center’s Support Groups give you time to talk with others who understand all the joys and stresses of caring for someone who is physically or cognitively disabled. Expect an exchange of information and ideas that will make each day easier.

Sessions are led by PSGDC staff with guest experts in attendance at some sessions

Groups are offered on a regular basis

While you are in the group, the person you care for may join PSGDC’s recreational Respite Program.
Handicapped-accessible transportation is provided for clients participating in respite
services (must sign up with the PSGDC in advance).
