From
April 18 to June 28, 2002, dozens of items made by Park Slope Geriatric
Day Center members were on display in a citywide exhibition of art
by seniors at Pfizer Inc. in Manhattan. The exhibition was the final
event of the annual "Art in the Neighborhoods" project, sponsored
by the Haym Salomon Foundation, which is dedicated to using art
as a medium for enhancing the quality of life for people of all
ages. PSGDC members participated in a six-month project called "A
Journey Through Art History," which included lectures, visits to
museums, and hands-on experience. A hearty band of PSGDC'ers traveled
to the opening reception of the city-wide show on April 18 where
they enjoyed the artand the food! Thank you to Haym Salomon
for sponsoring this project!
