BROOKLYN RESOURCE CAREGIVERS COMMITTEE

At Park Slope Geriatric Day Center the clients and the families are integral to our holistic approach to quality services. We understand that our caregivers have a willing spirit, but often lack the information and support needed to help with the challenges of caring for a relative who is ill or disabled. To continue to improve our network of services and support, PSGDC has formed the Brooklyn Resource Caregivers Committee.

BRCC is composed of elder service providers who are committed to a collaborative approach to meeting the needs of caregivers. Through monthly meetings we have begun to conduct satisfaction studies, create a resource bank of current information, and implement necessary support services. We are identifying the best practices for responsiveness to

special health concerns and social needs to improve the overall caregiver experience, while assuring sensitivity to culturally specific values.

The committee will be a resource to caregivers throughout the borough of Brooklyn.
