Transportation

PSGDC owns six handicapped accessible vans, each equipped with a hydraulic lift to provide door-to-door transportation to adult day programs at the 14th Street and Prospect Park West centers. Each driver carries a radio connected to staff at each center for safety and to inform families of any delays. Transport is our fastest growing service and is available six days a week, Monday through Saturday. Staff includes a Dispatcher and Maintenance Coordinator and six drivers, with at least one Spanish language driver or program assistant on each van.

The transportation service is also available by appointment for trips to senior centers, grocery stores and medical appointments under a contract with the Department of Transportation. The Escorted Shopping Program has been run in conjunction with Project Reach Youth since 1985. It is available to all PSGDC day program members and for seniors in partnership programs and residences in Brooklyn.
